The Story Behind the Pieces

Jewelry boxes are more than functional They are also keepers of the personal. They might hold a dazzling ring from a loved one, or a child’s tooth found under a pillow. Ultimately, they are vessels for treasured memories. I set out to build boxes entirely worthy of those memories—gorgeous, heirloom-quality art pieces designed to bring joy to their owners for generations.

The first two videos showcase Tedi’s and Rosa’s jewelry boxes. While the static images feature Tedi’s box, both custom pieces share a parallel design philosophy, structural integrity, and premium materials.

The Antique Engravings & Artistry

Both boxes feature removable lids built around rare, hand-engraved glass bevels:

• Tedi’s Box: Features a multi-phased sandblasted engraving designed by Judith E. James, an acclaimed American artist working in the 1970s and early 1980s. The composition offers stunning three-dimensional depth and fine, crisp detail.

• Rosa’s Box: Features a floral engraving salvaged from a broken antique chandelier. The delicate flowers were likely ground into the glass using a traditional spinning stone wheel—a brilliant artisan technique prominent between 1876 and 1916.
